How to do e-KYC for your ration card
- Take the Aadhaar of every member of your NFSA household to your Fair Price Shop
- Ask the shop owner to start the e-KYC request. Members authenticate with biometrics on the ePoS device
- Or use the Mera eKYC app on your phone, where your state allows face authentication
- Ask for the confirmation, and check it again after a few days
- Repeat for members who were left out. The cycle can be repeated each month for left out beneficiaries

What the official pages say
- The central advisory set a deadline to reach 100% e-KYC of February 29, 2024. A current national deadline is not published, so check your state notice.
- Goa: e-KYC can be done at any Fair Price Shop with biometrics, or in the Mera eKYC app with face authentication.
- Gujarat: e-KYC at the door by the Department of Posts for NFSA card holders (PIB).
- Maharashtra: a card whose e-KYC is not done is deactivated after a two month period, as per the state rules.
- Central procedure: NFSA household members visit the Fair Price Shop to start the e-KYC request. Shops may run it in non-peak hours.
